Strategic bingo, not luck-of-the-draw bingo
Two rule changes turn bingo from a passive luck game into an active strategy game:- You draft your own board. Before a match starts, every player privately arranges the numbers 1-25 on their own 5×5 board during a draft phase. Opponents’ boards are hidden. Where you place a number is a real decision that determines which lines you’re close to completing.
- Players call the numbers, in turns, not a random caller. There is no house RNG drawing balls. Players take turns choosing which number to call next, and a called number is marked on every board in the match simultaneously. This is the core strategic loop: on your turn you’re weighing “which number helps my board most” against “which number I should avoid calling because it helps an opponent more.”
Skill NFTs as abilities, not power-ups for sale
Skills are modeled after chess pieces, not RPG stat boosts: each of the 5 launch skills is a specific, well-defined move (mark a cell without it being called, call two numbers in one turn, etc.; full list in Skill System) with a hard charge limit (typically once per match) and a maximum loadout of 2 skills per player. Every skill has a counter (Nullify), so having a skill doesn’t guarantee it lands; the meta is closer to rock-paper-scissors than a stat war. Skill effect strength is kept flat across rarity tiers by design: a rare copy of Wild Daub does exactly what a common copy does. Rarity sells visual identity and prestige (see Skill System and Economy & Business Model), not power.Gameplay runs 100% off-chain
Every rule of the match (whose turn it is, whether a number was already called, whether a skill use is legal, whether 5 lines are complete) is validated by the authoritative game server, not the blockchain and not the client. No transaction, signature, or gas fee is required at any point during a match. A guest player can join and finish a full game without ever connecting a wallet. See Architecture for how the server enforces this.Wallet is only for ownership
The wallet only ever does two things in TheBingoFi: buying/holding Skill and Skin NFTs, and (optionally) linking that wallet so a purchased skill can be used in astandard-mode match loadout. It is never involved in the act of playing.
Explicitly non-gambling
This is a hard constraint, not a marketing line:- No stake. Joining or playing a match never requires putting anything at risk.
- No pot, no pool. There is no shared prize pool that winners draw from.
- No token. There is no fungible/tradeable in-game currency or platform token of any kind.
- Reward for winning is XP, season points, leaderboard placement, and non-tradeable cosmetic items: never money, never a token.
